So my decision to start a brand new, sparkly, very green, Bioinformatics blog kinda failed after the first, ‘official’ post. I mainly blame this on the fact that my hard drive died back in May, and it took me a while to recover from it. Also, my second MSc project didn’t require much coding other than the odd bit of Perl script, so I didn’t feel very inspired to blog about it.

Now that I am on my final MSc project, and it seems that I will be using Adobe Flash Builder again, I hope to continue with the bio-coding tips. I’ve also started hunting for jobs, so I think it would be good to have a more meaty offering to show any potential employers. :)

In the mean time, I’ll leave you with something that I learned just this morning: YouTube contains a surprising number of good Bioinformatics-related videos. It’s not all dancing babies, standing cats, and copyrighted music videos – who knew?

I haven’t had much time to explore, but this channel seemed useful: GenomeTV. I discovered it whilst searching for information on Next Generation Sequencing. You have to admit, watching colourful animations is certainly a more interesting experience than reading black and white pdfs.
